Preparation decides how a floor lasts. We check the existing floor for high spots, dips and damp, and level it where needed, because planks laid over an uneven base flex, click and eventually separate at the joints.
Planks are laid with the correct expansion gap at the walls, run in the direction that suits the room's light and length, and finished with skirtings and threshold strips at doorways — so there are no raw edges or visible gaps.
Flooring is often done with new skirtings and a ceiling refresh in the same rooms, so the whole space is finished at once.
